So what happens when you mix passable 2d animation with horrendous 3d animation? You get 'Dragonlance: The Movie', a strait to DVD fiasco that permanently locked the door on any of the rest of the trilogy ever being made. Fans of the saga let out a collective scream that was rivaled only by fan reaction to 1999's 'The Phantom Menace." Although most Dragonlance fans wouldn't say this cinematic atrocity stole their childhood, it is largely relegated to the forgotten bottom shelf, where collectors don't display the 'good' stuff. Ask any fan what they think of the movie, and the answer usually revolves around how this movie is the reason Dragonlance isn't taken seriously as a fantasy property. But does this movie really deserve all the hate? We here at Dungeons and Dweebs heard the warnings, but in an effort to 'completely' review the first Dragonlance Trilogy, we have ignored those who think we are crazy, and fired up the old DVD player to give you our thoughts.
